Summer holidays: Which company to use?

So it's that time of year again, and I am planning my annnual summer holiday.

And as usual I cannot decide what airline to use. The destination is sorted - Majorca here I come. I've even got my eye on a hotel that seems to be offering reasonable rates, so all I need to do for that is have a search through some of the usual discount hotel booking sites to find the cheapest. But the airline decision is proving to be a bit more difficult.

Basically there are flights leaving everyday to Majorca, so the schedule is not the problem. The problem is how much I spend and how much the experience could affect my trip. Do I use a budget operator and travel to the smaller airport thats a good hour or so out of town? Or do I go straight from the main international airport and hop on a chartered flight?

Then there's the luggage situation - do I go hand luggage only and squash everything into a tiny case? Or do I pay for a big case that I might not even need? If only someone could decide all this stuff for me! Skyscanner has been pretty useful for checking out all the cheapest prices - so at least I know it won't cost me too much either way.

Admittedly this post is a bit on the moaning side of things - but I do it out of sheer confusion. Which operator do you use? Suppose it won't matter much when I'm on a beach with an ice cold beer in hand.......
